Essay on Under Armour Company Analysis - 2581 Words
When our professor first presented this project paper to us my mind began to wonder. What is a good company to research and present it to my fellow classmates. My first selection was ââ¬Å"Chik-fil-aâ⬠, but I wasnââ¬â¢t sure if we could write about fast food franchises. So I continued to brainstorm about a topic to expound on, even going as far as in asking my buddies and co-workers for suggestions. ââ¬Å"Walmartâ⬠, ââ¬Å"National Football Leagueâ⬠, ââ¬Å"National Basketball Associationâ⬠, ââ¬Å"Nationwide Insuranceâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"LGâ⬠were a few ideas that were presented to me. A few of those sounded ok but none really grasp my attention. As I was visiting an outlet mall, I came across Nike store. ââ¬Å"Wow thatââ¬â¢s going to by my topic of choiceâ⬠, is what I told myself. They found interest in his product and decided to wear it as their official team apparel. Shortly after, he found himself supplying performance apparel to more division one football teams and over 24 National Football League teams. He relocated his company from his grandmotherââ¬â¢s basement over to the current Under Armour headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1999, Warner Brothers contracted Under Armour to outfit the actors for two movies, ââ¬Å"Any Given Sundayâ⬠and ââ¬Å"The Replacementsâ⬠. The athletic apparel was a success and in 2003 the brand had its first official commercial. As the years progressed, Mr. Plank developed a method for retaining clients. He believed in that if you created a product for the people who appreciate it, and then it will sell itself. Furthermore, success was sure to come around, yet rather quickly than he anticipated.
